Where Load Your Walmart Money Card

The MoneyCard can be loaded with more money six different ways. You can add cash to the card in person at a Walmart store or by check. You can have direct deposit set up to load the card or use cash reload or MoneyPak to load cash. Two other ways to load money on the Walmart MoneyCard is with an online bank transfer or by using a Money Center Express machine located in Walmart stores.

If you load the card at a participating Walmart, the money is available right away. You can go to any open register. At the register, you can load $20 to $1,100. There is a fee for reloading the card at the register.

If you have a government or payroll check to cash, you can do it at Walmart and have part or all of the check loaded to the Walmart MoneyCard. You can only load from $20 to $1,500 when you are loading the card with a check that you are cashing.

Direct deposit doesn’t have a fee requirement to load the MoneyCard. You must enroll in the direct deposit program. You can have part or all of your payroll check applied to the card on the date that you would get your check from your employer.

Cash Reload or MoneyPak is another way to load the Walmart MoneyCard at a participating Walmart store or at any participating Green Dot store, but there are more steps to load the money in the card. You purchase the Cash Reload or MoneyPak at the store. Then you must either call a specific 800 number or go online to the Walmart website to reload the money on the card by entering the Cash Reload or MoneyPak account number.

The card can be loaded by doing an online bank transfer with no additional fees or you can use the MoneyCenter Express machine in the front of participating Walmart stores to load the card with money. These machines also allow you to purchase phone cards or money orders.
