Student Edition of Walmart Money Card


The Walmart MoneyCard Family Edition gives you two cards with the same account number. If you have a child away at college, you can load money unto the card so your child always has money for living expenses or shopping. One card can have your name displayed and the second card for you child can have his or her name displayed on the card.

You can load the card in different ways just as you would a single MoneyCard. If your child calls you and says that they need money right away, you can go to Walmart and reload the card at the register for instant access to the money. Other ways to load the card include online bank transfers, purchasing MoneyPak or Cash Reload cards or you can set up direct deposit so that each payday, part or all of your money up a specified amount is loaded onto the card. 
Students can use the card for just about anything. The Walmart MoneyCard can be used to receive cash from an ATM machine or to pay for groceries, gas or clothes. The card can be used at restaurants, to make hotel reservations or to buy airline tickets. Cards are good for paying utility bills including electric, gas, phone and cable or satellite TV. The cards are also ideal for students that shop online.

As a parent, you can track the students spending. When you purchase the MoneyCard Family Express, you can set up your account to send emails or text messages to you so you can see where and when the money on the card is being used. This makes it easier you to see how your child is spending the money and how much you need to reload before he or she runs out of money on the card.
